Glass garage doors bring natural light and a contemporary look to a home. But an open view into the garage is not always desirable. Clopay’s Click-to-Conceal technology gives homeowners a way to control that visibility with the press of a button.

A New Approach to Garage Door Design

Clopay has introduced C-Power-enabled Click-to-Conceal panels for its Avante and Avante Sleek glass-and-aluminum garage doors. Using a wireless remote, homeowners can switch the glass from clear to opaque.

The power system is integrated into the door sections, keeping the wiring concealed. According to Clopay, the panels default to opaque when power is off.

Daylight When You Want It, Privacy When You Need It

This option is particularly interesting for homeowners who use their garage as a workshop, exercise area, or space for hobbies.

The clear setting provides an outside view and a bright, open appearance. The opaque setting conceals the interior while maintaining the architectural character of a glass garage door.

It makes privacy part of the door’s design, rather than something that has to be addressed afterward with separate coverings.

What to Consider Before an Upgrade

Choosing the right garage door involves more than selecting its appearance. Opening dimensions, the existing opener, glazing specifications, power requirements, and installation details all deserve attention.

Before ordering, ask the supplier to confirm the exact configuration, warranty, delivery schedule, and complete installed cost. Availability and lead times should be checked with a local authorized dealer.

The Alex & Family Perspective

At Alex & Family LLC, we value improvements that combine thoughtful design with practical everyday benefits. New technology is most useful when it fits the property, serves the homeowner’s needs, and is supported by a carefully planned installation.

Switchable glass is an interesting option to explore when planning a modern garage upgrade.
